Dr. Leah Rebekah

Meet Dr. Leah Rebekah

Dr. Leah Rebekah, AP, DAOM(c), is a board-certified Acupuncture Physician specializing in women's holistic healthcare through an integrative psychospiritual approach. Her work bridges traditional East Asian medicine, embodied healing, and contemporary understandings of women's health to support patients in restoring balance, resilience, and a deeper relationship with themselves.

Born and raised in South Florida, Dr. Leah is an Afro-Portuguese physician, educator, healer, and traditional wellness craftswoman. Her practice is grounded in the principle of female normativity—the belief that women's health is best understood through the realities of female anatomy, physiology, and cyclical living. She is devoted to caring for women as whole persons, recognizing the interconnected relationship between body, mind, spirit, ancestry, and environment.

Beyond private practice, Dr. Leah is the founder of Yue Collective, where she develops educational programs, traditional wellness products, and community initiatives dedicated to women's health, cultivation, and lifelong well-being.

Education & Clinical Experience

Dr. Leah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University, where her academic studies focused on women's studies, health, and medicine. She later attended the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, earning both her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Oriental Medicine. She is currently completing her Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM), where her doctoral research pioneers female-centered theories of Yangsheng, Qigong, and Neigong while developing new approaches to women's cultivation and constitutional restoration.

As a Holistic Systems Consultant, Dr. Leah partners with behavioral health organizations to develop integrated models of holistic care that strengthen clinical programming, group therapy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient outcomes. Her work focuses on designing sustainable systems that help treatment centers intentionally integrate holistic medicine into the broader therapeutic framework, allowing organizations to deliver comprehensive mind-body-centered care through existing clinical teams and thoughtfully developed programming.

Her professional experience spans nearly a decade in behavioral healthcare across residential detoxification, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) settings. During this time she worked extensively with individuals navigating substance use disorders, trauma, and complex mental health conditions while facilitating transformational healing groups and training Licensed Mental Health Counselors and other providers to incorporate holistic and embodied approaches into clinical care.

Dr. Leah is also a Certified Ritual Specialist and Certified Practitioner of Feminine Medicine, a lineage of global feminine wisdom traditions developed by Dr. Leonor Luna, AP. As a Ritual Specialist, she is trained in the cultivation of sacred space and the facilitation of intentional ceremonial containers that support transition, connection, and transformation. Her work draws upon feminine lunar traditions and animistic approaches to healing while integrating practices such as intuitive channeling, soul retrieval, energetic cord release, voice medicine, and trance-work.

Complementing this training, she has also studied Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan under physician and instructor Dr. Jean Walker in the Cheng Man-Ch'ing Yang Style tradition, further deepening her understanding of cultivation, embodiment, and traditional healing arts. Dr. Leah specializes in women's Qigong, Neigong, and Yangsheng—the classical arts of cultivation, health preservation, and lifelong development. Her work is devoted to studying, preserving, practicing, and teaching these traditions through a distinctly female-centered lens while contributing original scholarship that expands their application to women's lives.

Clinical Ethos & Areas of Focus

Dr. Leah's clinical philosophy centers women as the reference point for understanding health and healing. Rather than adapting generalized models of care, her work considers the unique realities of female physiology, cyclical health, sexuality, emotional life, and the developmental transitions that shape a woman's experience throughout the lifespan.

She works with women seeking support for menstrual health, pelvic and reproductive wellness, sexual well-being, trauma recovery, emotional resilience, chronic stress, and constitutional restoration. Her practice is equally devoted to prevention, health cultivation, and helping women establish sustainable relationships with their bodies through traditional principles of Yangsheng and self-care.

As an advocate and active member of Indigenous and African diasporic wellness communities, Dr. Leah approaches medicine with deep respect for ancestral knowledge while maintaining a commitment to evidence-informed clinical practice. She prioritizes classical Chinese medicine, Daoist cultivation traditions, and biomedicine, believing meaningful healthcare emerges through thoughtful integration rather than opposition.

Treatment Methods

Dr. Leah's work extends beyond the technical application of acupuncture through the development of an Experiential Acupuncture approach that emphasizes the therapeutic relationship as an active component of healing. Rather than viewing acupuncture solely as the insertion of needles, she approaches treatment as an embodied dialogue between practitioner and patient, integrating presence, awareness, touch, and traditional healing arts into a cohesive clinical experience.

Depending upon each patient's needs and treatment goals, sessions may incorporate:

  • Acupuncture
  • Medical Qigong
  • Embodied somatic touch
  • Therapeutic breathwork
  • Guided visualization
  • Crystal therapy
  • Medicine singing and vibrational practices
  • Lifestyle and Yangsheng counseling
  • Traditional herbal medicine and food therapy

Each treatment is individualized and designed to meet the patient where she is while supporting both immediate concerns and long-term constitutional health.

Scholarship, Teaching & Community

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Leah is deeply committed to education. Through Yue Collective she teaches women's self-care, acupressure, Qigong, Neigong, and traditional health preservation practices while creating handcrafted botanical preparations inspired by classical healing traditions, including medicinal oils, botanical balms, herbal formulations, Ayurvedic beauty preparations, and essential oil blends.

Her doctoral research continues to explore women's cultivation practices within classical Chinese medicine, contributing original scholarship that seeks to expand female-centered approaches to Yangsheng and traditional medicine.

At the heart of her work is a lifelong devotion to the Feminine—the life-giving principle reflected throughout nature, human experience, and the world's healing traditions. Whether caring for patients, leading healing circles, conducting research, or teaching, Dr. Leah's purpose remains the same: to help women reconnect with themselves, cultivate vitality, and reclaim the wisdom that has always lived within them.
